Walter finally got a haircut. Here are poorly lit before and after pics.
Before
After
I found a new groomer. She’s very nice. California Groomin.
I switched Walter to Wellness Lamb. They have something formulated for “small dogs” but they don’t define “small” on their site. Every brand of kibble I’ve seen has been a different shape.

He wasn’t enjoying the TOTW anymore. He’ll eat it when I mix some canned food in it. I’ve been using Wellness cans when I mixed it. I tested Lotus turkey stew on him too. Walter ate that quickly, but it makes his craps softer.
So far, he likes the new Wellness kibble. But he liked TOTW in the beginning too.
My cousin gave me a frozen raw patty, but I keep forgetting about it when it’s meal time.
I still find it amusing when dogs sniff each other’s butts. It’s funny when three or more line up. From a couple of days ago:

And yesterday, Walter got to play with a familiar dog, Spot. A couple of Whippets joined in for a little while too. Walter’s on the bottom, getting filthy.

Walter gets along with most dogs at the park, even some of the antisocial ones. Here he is playing with Shih Tzu called Sammy, who usually doesn’t play with others.

I’ve met a lot of great dog owners at the dog park, and they set up a birthday party today. Fred and Walter are two of the dogs with November birthdays so a bunch of us got together to celebrate. (Most of us would’ve shown up anyway since we’re regulars.)
Lola, Fred’s owner, is a graphic artist and made invitations.
I was stupid and came empty-handed. I didn’t realize people were taking it so far that there would be gifts. Walter got two plush toys, including a squeaking octopus and a Snoop Dogg plush that raps. Walter will tear those apart, so I’ll need to supervise when he plays with those. I also took home a few chew treats that’ll keep Walter busy for a while. There were also a lot of dog treats, including some from Three Dog Bakery handed out.
Everyone had a great time, and the dogs loved the treats. I was lucky to bring Walter early, so he could get in some exercise. Once the food was out, no one cared to play anymore and instead they focused on eating and looking for treats around the park.
Thanks everyone, especially Lola, Stephanie, Jean, Diane, and Charles. Walter is enjoying his presents.
Today is Walter’s birthday. He’s a year old now. I’ve kept him alive for eight months!
There are some other dogs with birthdays this month, so there’s a party at the park next week. Some people are bringing cookies and things. I promise not to put a hat on Walter.
